HIIT and circuit classes near Colchester: what to expect at FSP Fitness

If you want a class that works you hard but doesn’t leave you guessing what to do, HIIT and circuits are a great fit. Here’s how they work at FSP Fitness in Peldon, and why you don’t need to be fit to start.

What’s the difference between HIIT and circuits?

  • HIIT is high-intensity interval training: short bursts of hard work, then recovery, then repeat. FSP’s HIIT class is resistance-based, using bodyweight, dumbbells, barbells and cardio, and is aimed at fat burning and toning.
  • Circuit training means moving round a series of stations, each working a different part of the body. FSP’s 60-minute Bootcamp is built this way, with indoor and outdoor circuits using bodyweight exercises, cardio machines, dumbbells, barbells, battle ropes and power bags.

Both are coach-led, so you’re never left to work it out alone. Your coach explains each exercise, shows you how to do it safely and keeps an eye on your technique throughout.

“Is it too hard for me?”

No. Every exercise can be adjusted to your level. If you’re new, your coach gives you a version you can do well. If you’re fitter, they make it harder. Everyone works hard, but nobody is left behind.

Why small groups matter for high-intensity training

When you’re working hard, good technique and good coaching matter most. FSP classes are capped at 10 people, so your coach can see how you’re moving, change an exercise if it’s too much, and push you if it’s too easy. The group keeps you accountable too: members encourage each other, and you’re missed when you don’t turn up.
