Small group personal training in Colchester: what it is and who it’s for

If you’ve been searching for “small group personal training” near Colchester, you’re probably after something between a busy gym and one-to-one sessions. Here’s what that means and whether it might suit you.

What is small group training?

Small group training means a coach leads every session for a small number of people. At FSP Fitness that’s up to 10 per class. You don’t have to work out what to do or plan your own workout. The coach shows you the exercises, helps with technique and keeps the session moving, and you train alongside other people, which many find more motivating than going it alone.

Why people choose it

You’re never left wondering what to do. Every FSP session is coach-led. Your coach guides you through each exercise and helps you train safely.

Accountability is built in. Having a coach and a group expecting you makes it much easier to stay consistent, the part most people find hardest on their own.

Support from the group. Members encourage each other and celebrate progress together. Nobody gets left behind.

Up to 10 per class. Keeping groups small keeps the coaching good. It also means popular sessions can fill up, especially evenings.

“I’m not fit enough to start”

Many people worry they’re too unfit, overweight or inexperienced. Most FSP members started in exactly that place. Each exercise can be adjusted to your current level, so you’re challenged without being overwhelmed, and you progress at your own pace. All that’s asked is that you show up, stay consistent and trust the process.

What sessions look like

FSP runs a range of coached small-group classes: Bootcamp, HIIT, Cardio & Core, Pilates and Yoga. Bootcamp mixes indoor and outdoor circuits using bodyweight exercises, cardio machines, dumbbells, barbells, battle ropes and power bags. One-to-one personal training is also available if you want a programme built entirely around you.

Bootcamp times: Monday 9am, Tuesday 7pm, Thursday 6pm and Saturday 8am. Every session lasts 60 minutes.
